Akili Bomba, a local NGO based in Kibra, Nairobi—the largest slum in Africa—has spent the past three years successfully helping individuals overcome drug addiction and mental health challenges, all without government funding. “Akili Bomba,” which means “sound mind” in Swahili, embodies our belief that true resilience comes from addressing issues collectively.
